Beth Castle Lovell is a teaching artist who maintains a daily drawing practice which began as a New Years Resolution many years ago. She has an MFA in Painting from Yale and a BFA from Indiana University, Bloomington.
My preferred medium is ink wash. The brevity and improvisation of drawing with ink is a joyous performance-the interaction of seeing and making. The work relates the everyday to the world of myth as a coming to terms with the beauty and impassivity of nature and my particular place in humanity.
